KyoAni Tragedy

I’m sure a lot of you anime fans out there has heard about the tragic and senseless act of arson on the KyoAni (Kyoto Animation) studio on Thursday, July 18th by now. To say I was shocked and saddened when learning about this is a huge understatement. Upon hearing about it, I was immediately filled with so many different emotions at once. I just can’t believe how anyone could be so evil and uncaring to commit such a heinous crime. This once again proves that there are “true demons” in this world. I’m still in a mixed state of emotions over this whole incident and am not sure how long it will be until I can sort out all my feelings. TBH, I haven’t felt “normal” ever since hearing/finding out about this. I don’t want to sound like some kind of depressed and negative bastard, but a little bit more of my faith in humanity has once again been lost after learning of this tragedy.

Anyway, I’ve seen a fair share of great anime created by KyoAni throughout the years. Some of my favorite works by them are: Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, Clannad/Clannad: After Story, Miss Kobayashi’s Maid Dragon, A Silent Voice, The Melancoly of Haruhi Suzumiya, Amagi Brilliant Park, AIR, and Violet Evergarden. Thank you KyoAni for bringing me and countless others lots of joy and great entertainment throughout the years. It greatly saddens me that a so many talented individuals have been affected by this tragedy. I’m hoping and praying for their swift recovery. Things will never be the same for everyone involved, but I know they’ll pull through in the end. My most heartfelt condolences goes out to all the families and friends of all the KyoAni employees affected. Ganbatte! Faito KyoAni!

Oh, BTW, if you want to help out KyoAni in some way or another, you can go here: Help KyoAni Heal and make a donation or post a message of encouragement and thanks to them. I already made a donation and plan to make some more when I can. So please if you can spare any amount of money, please make a donation at that GoFundMe project in the above link. It goes without saying, but it’s for a very, very worthy cause. Thanks in advance! 🙂
